Sometimes in the course of participating and/or working within human service programs or services, we have a sense of self-compassion. This sense of self-compassion in human service participation/work is what is of interest in this research project.
By clicking on the ‘create my self-compassion lived experience story’ link (or orange “please answer the following questions” statement below), you will be directed to a consent to participate acknowledgement followed immediately by questions designed to collect your self-compassion lived experience.
Your responses will not be available to other participants. Only the Principal Investigators and research team members will have access to the data. Responses from all participants will be analyzed together to develop an understanding of how people who participate in and work in human service programs experience self-compassion.
To prevent potential identification, any names of people or places provided will be removed and replaced with pseudonyms. You will not be asked to provide your name or any contact information during this study. You will not be contacted for the purposes of this study. This research is concerned with how HS consumers and professionals live through an experience of self-compassion, not who is having the experience.
Based on a specific experience that you have had with living with self-compassion, please answer the following questions. Don’t worry about providing too much information. The more detail you can provide about your experience, the better! On average, stories will take 10 to 15 minutes to create.
From October 2022 to March 2023, please feel free to complete as many self-compassion lived experience narratives you would like. There is no limit to how many times you can share a self-compassion lived experience story. Be sure to include LOTS of detail about how the experience felt as you went through it. The narratives that have the most detail provide for deep understanding.
